Winterhawks Begin Testing Replay Screen

The Portland Winterhawks will begin beta testing a new video replay screen in Veterans Memorial Coliseum tonight when the team hosts the Everett Silvertips.

The rear-projection screen, which is 20 feet wide and 11 feet high, will be hung from the ceiling in the arena’s North end zone.

“The lack of a quality replay screen has consistently been the biggest complaint we receive from our fans, and this new screen marks the beginning of our attempt to remedy this problem,” said Portland Winterhawks President Doug Piper. “We will beta test the screen tonight and Saturday and continue to make adjustments at upcoming games in order to provide our fans with the exceptional game presentation they’ve come to expect from the Winterhawks.”

“We are extremely grateful to our partners at the Rose Quarter and the City of Portland for facilitating the purchase and installation of the replay screen,” continued Piper. “We continue to work in tandem with the City of Portland on moving forward with the Coliseum’s renovation, and look forward to one day installing a state-of-the-art scoreboard as part of that project.”
