Join our Team!

Portland is home to a vast array of pro, college, minor league, lesser-known professional and recreational sports opportunities. Our city literally covers the entire sports spectrum!

The mission of PortlandSports.com is to offer a platform for all local teams, athletes and weekend warriors to get their stories told.

You already follow all of your favorite local teams. Now help others do the same.

We’re looking for a bunch of people to help bring all of Portland’s teams to the masses. Check out the following positions we’re looking to fill. Don’t see anything that tickles your fancy? Give us an idea of what you’d like to do and we’ll likely give you the green light.

We can’t do this without your help. What’s more, we are now ready to start PAYING regular contributors for quality work (assuming certain conditions are met). And we’ll always accept freelance submissions.

Got any questions? Shoot us an email: jake@portlandsports.com

CURRENT POSITIONS

The following is but a small sampling of what we’re looking to do. Chances are you can do a little bit of everything – that’s even better!

Content Marketing Internship

Perfect for a college or high school student. Not only do you get to learn the ins and outs of our organization and Portland’s extensive sports community, you can get college credit! We’ve got a full page dedicated to this position: Click here to learn more.

Writers

We want to be the No. 1 resource for all of Portland’s underdogs. There’s no need for another smalltown website to report Blazers’ and Timbers’ scores — ESPN and OregonLive do a great job at the day-to-day stuff. But there’s no reason we can’t run columns on those same teams.

More importantly, PortlandSports.com wants to be the leader for all things non-mainstream. Help us provide weekly content on the following lesser-known Portland sports:

Roller Derby
The Rose City Rollers are Stumptown’s major skaters.

Minor League Football
We’ve got men’s minor league football, women’s full-contact football and even an Australian Rules club (you’ve seen their banner at On Deck Sports Bar).

Rugby
Portland has quite a few rugby clubs for both men and women.

Major League Ultimate Frisbee
The Portland Stags launched last season. You loved the game in college, imagine getting paid to play!

College Teams
We’ve got almost a dozen local colleges. With a full slate of sports at each school, you could watch a different team almost every day.

Adult Rec Sports
From coed kickball to mondo croquet, dragon boat races to underwater hockey – let’s show everybody how awesome Portland’s recreation community is.

Extreme Sports
Whether you know somebody who’s into rock-climbing, base jumping, extreme snowboarding or anything else that gets their adrenaline pumping, let’s showcase their skills.
