New Portland 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Coming Aug. 17
- Updated: June 12, 2013
With no Blazers Street Jam in two years, the Rose City is in dire need of a new 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Enter the Bridgetown Classic.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP!
The Pacific Northwest is a hotbed of 3-on-3 outdoor basketball. Just six hours away, Spokane holds the largest tournament on earth each June. Portland is no stranger to 3-on-3 basketball, either, as the once popular Blazers’ Street Jam boasted more than 500 teams in 2010.
But it’s been two years since Street Jam took place, which means basketball enthusiasts in Portland are hungry for a new tournament. With quality tournaments few and far between in the Rose City, it’s time for the PortlandSports.com Bridgetown Classic.
Obviously our inaugural year won’t feature 500 teams. It took quite a while for the Blazers to build that kind of following. But we’re planning on close to 70 teams this year spanning eight divisions, giving more than 260 players and their families the opportunity to enjoy summer basketball in Portland.
The Nike courts at Irving Park offer the ideal setting.
DIVISIONS AND COSTS
The Bridgetown Classic will feature 9 main divisions. As registration numbers dictate, each team will placed in a bracket featuring anywhere from 4 to 16 teams, however we are also willing to expand based o
Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of three games. All teams will start with an opening “play-in” game to determine seeding and then begin the double-elimination bracket.
Registration costs are below and a breakdown of each division are listed below. Registration will open tonight.

All players receive a free t-shirt, water bottle and other swag, while bracket champions will win further prizes, trophies and gear.
The Nike Basketball Courts at Irving Park feature three full courts that can be divided into 10 half-courts. The two uncovered courts will allow for eight games to played simultaneously while the covered court allows for two.
Irving Park’s multiple trees offer an abundance of shade during the August heat, allowing teams to relax and cool off between games. The grassy area will offer easy seating for all spectators, as well.
There is ample room to allow for pop-up tents (both for event staff as well as sponsor booths), food trucks and chairs. Portable restrooms and trash cans will be brought on site to maximize usability of the park.
