7. Muddy the Mudcat

Carolina Mudcats - Muddy the MudcatTeam: Carolina Mudcats
League: Carolina League
Affiliate: Indians (Class A Advanced)

A mudcat is a catfish, so let’s just get that out of the way immediately. But points for creativity since Carolina went the opposite way of Miami: While South Florida names their pro teams after the majestic sea-dwelling Marlins and Dolphins, Carolina chose the muddy waters of the Mississippi Delta to find their muse.

BIO: Muddy the Mudcat has been entertaining fans at Five County Stadium and the good people of North Carolina since his infancy. The “Fishcheif Maker” is well-known for his water gun antics and four-wheeler skills. Muddy also enjoys signing autographs for his fans every game and shooting T-shirts to the loudest fans in the stands with his T-shooter. He is also the president of the Muddy Buddy Book Club, one of the most successful reading programs in the state. Muddy loves going to elementary schools all around Eastern North Carolina to read to his friends. (Vote for this mascot at MiLB.com’s Mascot Mania)
